The SEF held its annual wine tasting at Traditions Restaurant on December 2, 2009. More than 30 wines were featured and attendees had the opportunity to purchase them, with a percentage of sales being returned to the SEF. The event also featured delicious food, a silent auction for great prizes and a 50/50 raffle. More than 45 people attended and approximately $3,000 was raised for our grantmaking initiatives. Community Partners Donate
SEF appreciates the generous support it continues to receive from many local businesses, which helps fund the innovative grants we award teachers and students. We welcome others who would like to join our more than 75 community partners. Interested businesses can make donations to fund specific grants or to support the general grant fund.

The Somers Education Foundation wants to thank everyone who participated in the recently concluded 9-month program with Somers Mobil on Route 100. For every gallon of gasoline purchased at the station on Saturdays, Somers Mobil donated 2 cents to the SEF. The total amount received exceeded $5,000, which will go directly to our grantmaking initiatives. A big thank you to Paul and Juliette Sussman, owners of Somers Mobil, for their generosity and support of the SEF.
